I recant my earlier outburst at mercies since I realize that he was acting as a messenger to the problem. Sorry for the offense mercies.
There are many people who would just run away from effort when doubts are raised and since people of afraid of being punished for just advocating a public policy or writing a letter to congress in the first place. I would request you to not reproduce posts here or on portal that would echo the material the plants fear and doubts among members. When the core group is spending 2-3 hours a day on top of their fulltime job plus the weekends, plus out of pocket expenses on travel to DC, its disheartening when a post on forum scares away sceptical members.

Dude nothing will happen, this was lost and last battle.
The problem is us, yes "us". Most of us come to check whats on the website and then make sure we stay abreast with it. No one wants to work etc mile except making stupid phone calls and sending faxes.

All the people who got EAD's act as if " I don't care now, I got EAD " I have spoken to few Indians and this has been their response.All these suckers are good for what? You all got EAD, congrats you sit on your bud and wait for years. We all have seen how the bulletin is working.
Illegals are better than us at least they are united and they are actively involved.
We need the IV core team and the administrator to guide some big rally's. Guys nothing will happen until we are bold about our intentions.
I noticed everyone comes up with their different ideas, but no one works to implement it. We need to stand together and do something big, when was the last time we had a big rally?
And how many people actually showed up? Desi's wants everything fast and free.
One of the reasons friends of mine from IV have left being disappointed.
Yes 2007 was a milestone for a few people, but a disaster for people like us, who had PD in 07, had July fiasco not happened we could have seen some positive movement, rather being put on a swing ------------------ go front----------------------- go back.
So all the junior and new members until you guys quantitatively plan something big and real, nothing will happen. We all have our own problems, life in America is not simple, but in order for us to accomplish something we all need to unite and do something big, the problem is lately IV thinks too much and has less of ACTION
All new members need to take a more active role in order to succeed and continue this effort for a long time for future immigrants.
I do not think having an EAD is a cause of inaction. It is more about having confidence in the effort that their effort will truly help them and everyone else like them. They can get confidence only when they get involved and get in the thick of things and see for themselves how things work. I have heard people calling USCIS every other day finding their status if they just get an LUD. People take infopass just to find out their name check status. So why can't these people make calls to lawmakers and take an appointment to meet their lawmakers.
Until some time back people were by and large afraid to even write to lawmaker offices. But when their case was stuck in namechecks, they wrote to everyone including WH. So why cant we write letters during an action item? We need to think like a community and not as an individual in need of a greencard. An individual cannot achieve anything alone but a voice of thousands can do a lot.
We should feel happy that there is an immigration voice that is a voice of this community. It is not a lawyer forum created for a lawyer's publicity or a forum managed by any business interest to make profit off this community. The aim here is to get people relief from their immigration problems and IV resources are utilized for the community. People need to adopt IV as their place to go for all immigration related discussions and data from IV tracker and visit this site more often and try to get involved. Remember that just by visiting this site frequently, you are helping this effort in some ways.

Lost in the big hoopla of 1 yr jump and hopes of similar advancement for others in May VB are the following facts.
1. USCIS is about to raise fees for all immigration related procedures beginning from June 1st
2. Visa quota ends in September and it takes on an average of 4-6 months to process I-485.
Let me detail 2nd step. If they move dates forward by say 1 yr and thousands become eligible for 485. They will accept those cases, get fees from those lucky souls and make the dates unavailable after 1-2 months. Remember last year they were moving dates by 6 months till they made it UNAVILABLE for August and September.

I am not sure about how many cheques and the amounts on it since everything is done by my company attorney. However, last week we had a chineese guy here in this forum who got this 485 back and one of his cheque was encashed. Also the reason for the return is the non-availability of VISA numbers. He will send it back again, but my point is the clearance of single cheque is not the indication of acceptance of you app.
They've already said to give them until Aug 1st for June filers. Then they will focus on July filers. Simple as that. If your checks aren't cashed by Aug 1/2 for a June filer, then perhaps you have reason to call. If your checks are cashed, then YOU'RE IN, no need to call. Whatever you need is in the mail. If you don't get it by frst week of august, then call.

There should be support from most congress person for any bill to pass. All IV members should call the local congress person and request them to support the pro legal immigration bills.

so you don't see a difference in how a private organization and a non-profit organization operates. Well here are some:
1. In your office, you are actually working for your boss and you are getting paid to do what they want you to do. I don't remember getting any pay check from IV. In fact, I have written several checks to IV. This doesn't mean I can post whatever I want but as long as I am following IV guidelines, I shouldn't get harassed by folks like you who think that their post is the only important post.
2. If you don't do what you are told at work, they'll fire your a&& and you wouldn’t know how to pay your bills next month. That's why the CEO or your boss don't have to send you a one liner before they take any decision.
As far as I know, IV is just a group of people coming together to address a problem which is shared by all members. I know that some people have worked harder than others and some people have contributed more than others but everyone has contributed one way or the other. So for you to come out and say that you are the only one doing all the work and others are just doing nothing and some how you are the CEO of this organization is just beyond my imagination. May be it's time you wake up and smell the coffee.

We are like beggars in this country. This country and its people do not want us here and are doing everything permissible under law to throw us out of here (if no law then they just make one up).
But we are such suckers that we do not want to leave this country and go back home. Gandhi fought to get rid of white masters but we were destined to serve one anyway. I don't understand why I don't live in my own country and contribute to its economy. Why am I tolling so hard to live here? I don't know when will my hard head understand this silly concept.
The reason is...probably we are not toiling that hard....As long as one has a paying job, things go reasonably smooth.....and we dont toil as much as it is made out to be.
The issue comes only when one loses the job...and had to play catch-up with immigration to keep us in status.
That is also the reason why you don't get mass participation in legal immigration activities.
I presume people are just happy with the status-quo! They think of going that extra length only when that status quo gets disrupted..

I don't have the answer to your question but I wanted to point out that it was not necessary to have an attorney withdraw their representation. The proper procedure is to file a new G28 form and that would override the previous G28.
In your case I would suggest that you have an INFOPASS appointment and talk to an IO who may be able to direct you as to what to do. Alternatively you may want to contact an attorney.

as per the info u provided u'r...... mail dt is 8/17/07 & receipt dt is 9/26/07...... did u'r application reach cis after july visa bulletin..... if yes, then it appears that with u'r april-06 dt. the priority dt was not current when they received u'r app .... is that a possibility.....
even if thats the case they cant go back after more than 2 years ...they simply cant decide after two years if something wasnt filed in time - even by uscis' horrible standards that'd be a new low

Whoa, now be careful what you say there tiger. Outsourcing has nothing to do with the H-1B program, if everyone followed the law. Then people wouldn't be in America, underpaid or on the bench. American companies outsourcing to India etc. is happening. Everyoe is entitled to an opinion on whether that is right or not. But BREAKING THE LAW BY ENTERING THE COUNTRY ON AN H-1B ON FALSE PREMISES is simply illegal, and has nothing to do with the issue of outsourcing. Two different things.
I am not saying all American companies are saints. The ones breaking the law should be punished accordingly. But facts are that Indian companies are among the biggest abusers of H-1Bs. Nothing wrong with Indian companies in general. But the ones breaking the law should be brought to justice, it's as simple as that.
If you are so sure about the law breakers and how people and companies are breaking immigration laws and you can always document and lodge compliaints to appropriate authorities. Dont always assume your perception is reality. There is something called due process when it comes to criminal prosecution in this country.

We filed our AOS, EAD and AP on Aug 13th at NSC. We are from Santa Clara county in california. I heard that people from santa clara are getting FP's very late?
We have got our Receipts on Sept 30 and EAD on Oct 28th. No FP and AP yet.
My question is how to create service request?
We are planning out of country. Just waiting for this FP to be done.
Can we postpone FP for a specific period of time?
