Thats true..everybody are bothered about EAD and FP. I am here for more than 8 years in this country. IV should emphasise this and USICS should allow affected candidates like us to file I-485 and atleast get EAD. we have priority date earlier compared to others.

Yesterday night at 9:00pm I got email from CRIS that they have issued RFE for me and my spouse.
The contents in the emails say -
"Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Request for Additional Evidence Sent"
Will have to wait and see what the RFE is about till we get it in postal mail.
Very curious about what the RFE is about. Have been with the same employer who sponsored the GC for last 5 years. PD in july 2004 , I140-EB2 approved approved in Nov 2006 and 2 July 2007 filer.

Today I got a call from an officer in "immigration and customs enforcement" asking for an appointment to visit my residence for checing my immigration status.
I am on H1B visa.
I would appreciate if someone could give any sort of information related to calling for a home visit.

1) Once the client side project is completed (assuming the employer is paying to employee), how much period we can stay waiting for a new project? Is there any limit of the period?
2) Once the pay from an employer is stopped, with in how much period, one has to go to home country? Is there any limit?
3) Can an employee stay (assuming he is getting paid) with out client side project and working on skill upgrade and waiting for a new project?
4) What are the documents I should be ready with? I am staying with my family.

In the same lines as H1B, could we look into if its possible to add a quota for US Masters degree holders irrespective of country of birth for green Card also. This would be in addition to the existing Employment based quotas.
Does anyone know how they added 20k H1B quota for Masters degree holders? Who sponsored that bill? May be we should talk to the same people.
I would think there would be a little less resistance for this? This would ease the pressure on both EB2 and EB3.
I dont know if this has been previously looked at. I know there were talks of excluding these people from quota all together.

I am just confused that how they assigned 70K EB2 visas in 2008. Because EB2 share is
40k + 4k(EB1 left over)+? how many FB = 70k . So from above it looks like all FB leftover went to EB2.

Same here, fraud bodyshop consultants make life miserable for genuine applicants and also give a bad name to the H1B process. It's more like an easy ticket to come to the US as opposed to being qualified for a job. I wonder what people think , that life gets better once you start with fraud??

You can change you job after 180 days with an approved i-140. And job description and duties should be same or similar. So would you say the job duties are same/similar?

The meeting with Rep. Pete Stark's district director Jo Cazenave went very well. She had a little idea about, but was not fully aware of EB process for obtaining GC, and was impressed with our presentation that explained the process in graphical manner. Jo confirmed that Congressman Stark was against illegal immigration and also clarified that he was all in for high tech legal immigration. She listened attentively and took notes. She showed more interest in knowing facts about provisions of S.2454 and Spector's mark up that would reverse provisions of AC21 and Sen. Fienstein's amendments to these proposed bills. She repeatedly reminded me to make sure to forward more details on these after the meeting. I've sent her these details in the 'Thank you' email after the meeting. As it has been the case with outcome of other lawmaker staff's meetings, she suggested that we agressively meet with as many lawmakers as possible - especially in DC, seek support of big companies who hire EB workers and encourage people to contact their congress reps in case of unacceptable administrative delays. Jo has extended her invitation to members of IV to attend Rep. Stark's town meetings. (The next one to be held on 1st Apr'06 in Newark - details on http://www.house.gov/stark/contact/townmeeting.htm ). She asked my personal experience with the GC Processing and how it has impacted me. Man, I-485 for Texas went back more than a month. It's so bad, they might as well not have published it, one would have slept better at night.
How do they come up with these dates? Weren't they supposed to process I-485 applications in the order they received them?
And how come the California Service Center has been doing so well this past few months, while all the other centers have been stationary or going back. CSC is at January 2007 now, fer cryin' out loud!

May be you are right....but, I feel that the whole thing is a broken promise. And I feel like I fell right in the trap set for people like us.

Disappointed ..... definitely YES, having realised the follies of the "system" here. Search within yourself to find out how / why you came to this country first. Was it just a lure of the GC ? Most of us either came to study / work. We took it one step at a time, but GC was not the only or ultimate goal.
